How do I apply for an HVAC license in Texas?
To apply for an HVAC license in Texas, submit a completed application along with the $115 fee to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). When re-applying for your license, you'll need to submit a completed application with your experience and employment documentation, as well as the $115 license fee. The TDLR requires 48 months of practical experience in air conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) related work under the supervision of a licensed ACR contractor within the preceding 72 months. This experience can be from Texas or another state.What is the difference between a Class A and a Class B license?
A Class A license permits work on units of any size, while a Class B license restricts work to systems up to 25 tons or heating equipment rated up to 1.5 million BTUs/hour. To qualify for the ACR Contractor's exam, you must be at least 18 years old and provide proof of 48 months of experience within the preceding six years. Process Cooling or Heating controls temperature, humidity, or cleanliness for production requirements or equipment operation. Commercial Refrigeration/Process Heating and Cooling is limited to coolers, freezers, ice machines, and equipment providing temperature and humidity control.How do I add an endorsement to my license?
